What's Burnt Pix?
What's BPIX?One of the most fascinating generative art experiments on LUKSO.
The Concept β¨
Mint is completely free. But the image itself starts hidden β it only reveals itself through refine(), a function anyone can call, which costs real gas to run.
Each token has a unique seed. That seed drives the image generation entirely on-chain, computed directly by the EVM through pure math β no off-chain server, no IPFS, nothing external. Every pixel you see is the literal output of a smart contract's computation.
The Twist πͺοΈ
The deeper an image gets refined, the more expensive it becomes to refine further. It's designed to get prohibitively expensive as more people use the chain β which is exactly why Burnt Pix has been used as an EVM stress-test benchmark. It's an "EVM killer" by design.
The Economics π°
Under EIP-1559, every tx splits into a base fee (burned, removed from supply forever) and a priority fee (tip to validators). Since refine() can consume enormous amounts of gas, the base fee burned per refinement is massive relative to a normal transfer β making Burnt Pix, almost as a side effect, a genuinely deflationary sink for $LYX.
There's no roadmap and no updates promised. The creator says it plainly: this is ART. Provided as is.
What you're really looking at is a piece of generative art where the canvas, the paint, and the cost of painting are all defined by the same mathematical rules β and where finishing the picture is a race against your own gas bill.
